Western United and CommBank Matildas midfielder Chloe Logarzo has been withdrawn from the international squad after suffering a concussion in Wednesday night’s victory over Chinese Taipei.
Logarzo was substituted in the first half of the Matildas’ 3-1 win at AAMI Park after a head collision and has since been diagnosed with concussion; in a statement, Football Australia confirmed Logarzo recovered from her symptoms but has been withdrawn from the squad in accordance to concussion protocols.
As a result, Melbourne City midfielder Laura Hughes has earned her first senior call-up of her career, and will join the Matildas squad as Logarzo’s replacement ahead of Saturday night’s friendly against Chinese Taipei at GMHBA Stadium.
Logarzo has also been confirmed as an absentee from Western United’s squad for Sunday afternoon’s Ninja A-League clash with reigning champions Sydney FC at Ironbark Fields.
