Melbourne City have signed 27-year-old Nigeria international Chinaza Uchendu ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025-26 campaign.
Uchendu joins the reigning Ninja A-League Premiers from French club Nantes. Capped 10 times by the Super Falcons, Uchendu represented Nigeria at the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations as well as the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

After stints at clubs in Portugal, Sweden, South Korea, Nigeria and Turkey – where she won the Women’s Super League title with Galatasaray – Uchendu is set to call Melbourne home in 2025-26.
The forward will look to contribute goals and attacking flexibility to a City squad looking to compete both in the Ninja A-League and AFC Women’s Champions League this season.

City director of football Michael Petrillo says Uchendu’s experience and attacking qualities will prove invaluable this season.
