Arnold was a frustrated man as the Mariners’ lead at the top of the A-League was cut to one point following last week’s defeat to lowly Perth.
With an Asian Champions League clash on Wednesday night followed by a match against second-placed Western Sydney next week, it is shaping as a crunch period for Arnold’s troops.
Victory will also be desperate to keep their Premiers’ Plate hopes alive with a win at Bluetongue Stadium.
With three games in a week, Arnold has indicated he will be resting players, which will test the depth in the squad.
“Three games in a week is tough but any footballer wants to play games rather than train,” Arnold said.
“Last week wasn’t good so we want to see a reaction from the players.
“They have trained well this week so I’m expecting a good performance on Saturday night. We’ve got good depth in the squad.”
While admitting changes are likely Arnold is not expected to finalise the final starting team until Saturday morning.
