Ninja A-League champions Central Coast Mariners have snapped their run of three straight defeats after routing rivals Newcastle Jets 4-1 in the F3 Derby.
After the blockbuster showdown was pushed back 24 hours due to heat in Gosford, the Mariners rallied from behind to celebrate their drought-ending win on Sunday.
Annalise Rasmussen’s double set the tone as Central Coast ended a run of three consecutive games without scoring, while extending their winning streak against Newcastle to four.
Jets captain Lauren Allan put the visitors ahead inside 22 minutes – making it goals in back-to-back games for the skipper.
But Rasmussen restored parity for the Mariners, who had not won since the club’s opening-round triumph over Adelaide United.
Having netted her first gal of the campaign, Rasmussen was at it again with 17 minutes of regulation remaining after combining with star teammate Isabel Gomez.
Then substitutes Tamar Levin and Eliza Familton scored twice in six minutes to complete the derby rout after losing goalkeeper Sarah Langman to injury.
