May was all about the Hyundai A-League Finals Series and we were treated to a few outstanding strikes as Perth Glory and Sydney FC won their way through to the decider.
And the fans have decided that Diego Castro’s team-goal opener in the Semi Final thriller against Adelaide United was the Goal of the Month.
After good approach work from Andy Keogh and Ivan Franjic, Castro produced a backheel flick to supply Chris Ikonomidis, and then span into space to collect Ikonomidis’ excellent defence-splitting pass on the right of the penalty area.

Showing great composure, the 36-year-old Spaniard took a few short steps, put on a little fake and then swept the ball past Reds ‘keeper Paul Izzo at his near post to put Glory 1-0 ahead.
Castro’s classy finish received 40% of the vote, finishing just above Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque’s powerful volley in his side’s 6-1 Semi Final drubbing of Melbourne Victory.
