Newcastle Jets captain Cassidy Davis is set to take part in her 13th straight season at the club after signing on for the Ninja A-League 2025-26 campaign.
The 30-year-old is a bona fide Jets legend, having spent her entire career playing for her hometown club. Davis has made 176 appearances for the Jets – a club record in the Ninja A-League – and has captained Newcastle through 76 games after taking on the role in 2022.
Davis holds an impressive piece of A-Leagues history; after making her Jets debut in 2013, Davis went on to play 132 consecutive games – a run that came to an end 10 years later in November 2023. It’s the all-time record of consecutive games played for female and male players in Australian football top-flight competition.

As a born and bred Novocastrian, re-signing for season 13 at the Jets was a simple decision for Davis who can’t wait to get going again under the club’s new head coach Stephen Hoyle.
“To be entering my 13th season with the Newcastle Jets, my hometown club, is something I’m incredibly proud of,” Davis said.
“This club means everything to me, the community, the fans, and the entire region. My passion for bringing a trophy home to Newcastle continues to grow every season.
“There’s a great feeling around the club right now and what we’re building towards under new leadership. I can’t wait to get started and I can’t wait to see our fans get behind us again this year.”
Davis is Newcastle’s ninth re-signing of the off-season, along with Claudia Cicco, Emma Dundas, India Breier, Josie Allan, Josie Wilson, Libby Copus-Brown, Natasha Prior and Sophie Hoban, who have all recommitted to the club under new head coach Hoyle.
“It was essential for us to retain Cass,” Hoyle said.
“Her leadership, consistency, and deep connection to the club and local community set the tone for what we want to build here.
“She will continue to play a key role not only in her performances on the pitch but in mentoring the next generation coming through.”
