Canberra United have re-signed talented young midfielder Mary Stanic-Floody for the 2024-25 Liberty A-League season.
Stanic-Floody has been rewarded after making a “big impact” in her first season with Canberra in the nation’s capital, where the teenager scored two goals in 16 appearances last term.
The 18-year-old moved to Canberra after winning the Liberty A-League Premiership-Championship double in 2022-23.

“I have really enjoyed playing for Canberra United, and I am looking forward to continuing to learn as a player in what is a tremendous environment for a young professional player,” Stanic-Floody commented.
“Canberra United believed in my ability by signing me last season, and I am determined to repay that faith by playing to the best of my ability with the club.
“The city is a fantastic place to live for a young player, and I am learning a lot, plus I love playing in front of the enthusiastic fans!
“I am looking forward to the start of the new season.”
Stanic-Floody’s renewal comes after the signing of New Zealand international Elizabeth Anton.
Anton is Canberra’s second signing after Sally James, while A-Leagues legend and CommBank Matildas striker Michelle Heyman has also re-signed in the nation’s capital, along with Ruby Nathan, Hayley Taylor-Young, Sofia Christopherson and Holly Murray.
“Mary made a big impact on the club in her first season with Canberra, and we were very keen to secure her signature for the new A-League season,” said head coach Antoni Jagarinec.
“As a part of the Future Matildas program, we are convinced that Mary has a very bright future in the game, and we are confident that she will be able to reach those levels playing for Canberra United.
“The fans certainly took to Mary, and we are looking forward to seeing her develop further this season.”
