They have staked their claim as Australia’s kings of the NPL and now Campbelltown City will be out to take it one step further against Hyundai A-League opposition in the FFA Cup 2019 Round of 32.
The side from South Australia have enjoyed some magical moments in recent years but a clash against Melbourne City FC – live on Fox Sports – on July 31 could top the lot.
This is Campbelltown’s first appearance in the Round of 32, booking their spot by taking out last year’s Australian NPL title.

Not only do they have a squad packed with talent, but there’s also a real family feel with the side coached by Joe Mullen and featuring Caltex Socceroo #529 Daniel Mullen (Joe’s son), Matthew Mullen (Joe’s nephew) and Alex Mullen (Joe’s nephew) all playing in the Red and White.
This is a club on the rise and they will relish the chance to take on Erick Mombaerts’ City in front of their home fans at the end of the month.

History
Formed by a bunch of local Italian migrants in 1963, Campbelltown City started in the old South Australian third division the following year.
It was decided the club’s colours would be ‘Red and White’ which was the same as another local sports outfit, the ‘Glen Roy Football Club’.

After winning their first title in 1996, the club have steadily climbed the ranks of South Australian football ever since, winning titles in each division along the way.
Now one of the powerhouses of the NPL, Campbelltown City won the South Australian championship in 2018 and went on to be crowned Australian National Premier Leagues winners with a 2-1 win over Queensland’s Lions FC in the decider.
