A huge opportunity awaits Brisbane Roar as they take on Adelaide United in an intriguing clash at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
While Roar’s four-game unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of champions Sydney FC last time out, Robbie Fowler’s side should have plenty of confidence heading into this one.
And they go into the match in the knowledge a win would propel them into the top six heading into the last third of the regular season.
If Brisbane can take all three points against Adelaide, it would be the first time since March 2018 they have won back-to-back games at Suncorp.
But they come up against a Reds outfit that have second spot in their sights on the back of three straight wins.
Gertjan Verbeek’s side have found their attacking mojo in recent games, netting 10 goals in those three wins including a 3-1 triumph against Melbourne City last weekend.
It was a late James Troisi goal that proved the difference when these two sides met earlier this season, a 1-0 win to the Reds at Coopers Stadium.
