Devastating news sidelines Brisbane Roar’s Yallop

Brisbane Roar captain Tameka Yallop faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a significant hamstring injury in last Sunday’s Ninja A-League match against Adelaide United.

Yallop will undergo surgery early next week before beginning rehabilitation under the club’s medical and performance staff. She is expected to make a full recovery and return ahead of the 2026 Finals Series.

Roar says the club and wider football community are disappointed by the setback but will continue to support their captain.

Head coach Alex Smith said, “We are all shattered by the news of Tameka’s injury. As a group and wider club, we will rally around Meeks and support her through this difficult time.“

He added, “I look forward to seeing her back on the field as soon as possible but, have full belief in the talent we have in the squad and our ability to continue to excel going forward.”
