Macarthur FC have signed young forward Bernardo Oliveira after the termination of his Adelaide United contract via mutual consent.
Bernardo, 19, first signed for the Reds in 2021 and made 39 appearances in all competitions under head coach Carl Veart.
Bernardo’s departure comes after last week’s revelation from Adelaide coach Veart that the 19-year-old had ruled himself out of selection ahead of his side’s clash with Sydney FC in Unite Round.
The teenager was under contract in Adelaide until the end of 2025 but departs with the club’s best wishes to link up with Mile Sterjovski’s Macarthur in Campbelltown.
“Bernardo is an exciting young player,” Sterjovski said upon Bernardo’s arrival.
“He already has quite a lot of A League experience at a young age… a fresh face will be good for our club at this stage of the season.”
