Newcastle Jets and Macarthur FC will meet in an all-A-Leagues showdown after the draw for the 2024 Australia Cup Round of 16 was confirmed.
The draw was made following Wednesday’s remaining Round of 32 matches, which saw Isuzu UTE A-League champions Central Coast Mariners eliminated by NPLM VIC side Heidelberg United 3-1 after extra time in Victoria.
There are six Isuzu UTE A-League teams remaining in the Australia Cup – Adelaide United – the most successful club in the history of the competition with three titles, two-time champions Melbourne Victory, Western Sydney Wanderers, 2022 winners Macarthur FC, two-time runners-up Perth Glory and Newcastle Jets.

The last-16 ties will be played over five days from August 24-28, with dates and venues to be confirmed.
Adelaide United will visit NPLM WA outfit Olympic Kingsway after overcoming Blacktown City 3-2 in extra time, while 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Finalists Melbourne Victory make the trek to NPLM NSW club NWS Spirit following their 4-1 rout of Lambton Jaffas on Tuesday night.

Western Sydney Wanderers’ reward for their 2-1 success away to NPLM QLD outfit Brisbane City is another trip to Queensland to face Lions FC.
David Zdrilic’s new-look Perth Glory will play NPLM QLD side Moreton City Excelsior after their wild 5-4 triumph against Melbourne City, while the Jets and Macarthur will go head-to-head in the other fixture.
