Central Coast Mariners academy product Annalise Rasmussen has signed a two-year contract extension at the club, set to run until the end of the 2025-26 Liberty A-League campaign.
Rasmussen, the Mariners’ first signing on return to the competition in 2023-24, continues her journey at the club she joined aged 11.
Eight years later, the 19-year-old has tied her future to the club and will look to build on her 21 appearances made predominantly off the bench in the Mariners’ comeback season.
Mariners head coach Emily Husband says Rasmussen’s commitment to the club for the next two Liberty A-League seasons has set the teenager a platform to build off her first campaign as a super-substitute into the future.
“Annalise represents the Central Coast so well,” Husband said.
“She has been a part of the club for so long and is a young player with a really bright future. She made a massive impact off the bench for us last season, and we want her to continue to build on that with us moving forward.
“We see her as a big part of the future of this team, and her signing a two-year contract allows stability for everyone and the perfect opportunity for her to continue to grow as a Mariner.”
Rasmussen is the first Mariners re-signing of the off-season. Former Sydney FC midfielder Taylor Ray has joined the club while a number of key players have bid farewell to the Coast, including Rola Badawiya, Jazmin Wardlow, Casey Dumont, Faye Bryson, Paige Hayward and Matildas star Kyah Simon.
Upon signing her two-year extension, Rasmussen spoke on the pride she takes in representing her hometown club.
“I am super excited to extend my contract with the Mariners for another two seasons,” she said. “
“This is my local team, having come through the academy, so I am looking forward to continuing to wear the Yellow and Navy. Last season being my first in the league, it was a great experience, and I am looking to build on that.
“I learnt so much from being a part of the team, especially from Emily. I can’t wait to continue to learn and grow here this year and for the season to get started!”
