Former Central Coast Mariners pair Nick Montgomery and Sergio Raimundo have joined Tottenham as part of Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff at the Premier League side.
Ex-Mariners head coach Montgomery and his trusted right-hand man Raimundo have been appointed assistant coaches of Spurs following their departure from Scottish Premiership outfit Hibernian last month.
Former Sheffield United midfielder Montgomery, together with Portuguese assistant Raimundo, transformed the Mariners from cellar-dwellers to Isuzu UTE A-League champions in 2022-23 – snapping a 10-year drought in Gosford.

Their work with the Mariners earned a move to Hibs ahead of the 2023-24 campaign – Montgomery named coach with Raimundo his assistant though they were relieved of their duties eight months into the role at Easter Road.
Now, the A-Leagues-winning duo will link up with former Mariners star and Socceroos legend Mile Jedinak at Tottenham as part of some coaching changes in London.
“It’s also great to have Nick and Sergio join the club, and they will add to the talented coaches we already have on the staff here,” said Postecoglou, who is preparing for his second season in charge of Tottenham.
“Both Nick and Sergio have a wealth of coaching experience over a number of years. They have already demonstrated a strong desire to both develop young talent and implement a football style that I believe will further strengthen the environment we have established.
“I’m looking forward to working with them.”

Montgomery and Raimundo join Ryan Mason (assistant coach), Jedinak (assistant coach) and Rob Burch (first team goalkeeping Coach) on the club’s coaching staff after Matt Wells was promoted to senior assistant coach.
Postecoglou’s Spurs begin their 2024-25 Premier League season against newly promoted Leicester City on August 20.
