Ange Postecoglou and Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli: it’s the partnership we never knew we needed – until now!
Henry Winkler, the actor who played Fonzie in the iconic TV show Happy Days, has sent the Tottenham Hotspur head coach a message in the wake of Postecoglou’s admission he was a big fan of the American sitcom as a child.
A Postecoglou quote went viral in the build-up to Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday morning (AEDT), when he was asked about supporting the Reds. Postecoglou responded: “Liverpool were my team, but things change. I used to love Happy Days too but I don’t have posters of The Fonz on my wall anymore either.”
A Tottenham fan then reached out to Winkler to request a response to Postecoglou, and the American actor delivered in style, offering the Australian a signed poster and congratulations for defeating Liverpool.

VAR: Ange Postecoglou labels major VAR ‘misconception’ & the ‘problem we fail to grasp’
Postecoglou has received a warm reception in England throughout the early months of his Tottenham tenure – and this isn’t the first time a celebrity from outside footballing circles has joined in on the hype, after a Tottenham fan chant in his honour set to the tune of a Robbie Williams hit earned a rendition from the pop megastar himself.
After defeating Liverpool, that chant bellowed around Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a spine-tingling moment shared between himself and the fans; it was a rousing display of respect to the manager who has taken the club to within one point of league-leaders Manchester City after seven Premier League games.
From Fonzie to Robbie Williams, each week seems to throw up a new surprise for Postecoglou as the Spurs boss continues his bright start to life in North London.
