Amlani Tatu enjoyed a memorable National Youth Championships as the Adelaide United teenager starred for South Australia in Wollongong and he was not the only A-Leagues prospect to flourish.
All eyes are on Tatu, who has been tipped to make his Isuzu UTE A-League debut for Carl Veart’s Reds in 2024-25, after he was named the Under-16 Player of the Tournament across six days at 2024 National Youth Championships in NSW, where Subway Socceroos head coach Graham Arnold was in attendance.
The highly rated 16-year-old is the latest player coming through Adelaide’s famed production line having turned heads at domestic and international level this year – he has starred at NPLM SA level while helping the Subway Joeys win the ASEAN U16 Boys’ Championship earlier this month.

Last year, he was a standout at the U15 National Championships, scoring twice for South Australia against eventual champions Victoria Blue.

This year, Tatu flourished again for Football SA as he took out the individual U16 honour. NSW Metro Sky were 2-1 victors against Queensland White in the decider.
Melbourne Victory shot-stopper Oskar Von Schrenk was named U16 Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
Henrique Oliveria – the son of Adelaide United legend Cassio and another Football Sa representative – was named U15 Player of the Tournament with Victoria Blue winning the final 2-0 against South Australia.
