Western United have confirmed goalkeeper Hillary Beall will play her last Liberty A-League game for the club on Sunday before returning to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
The American shot-stopper, who was initially on loan at Western from Racing Louisville, has now been traded to San Diego Wave and as such will be heading to her new club in order to fight for the number one jersey.

“Hillary has been an integral part of our journey in the Liberty A-League and we would like to thank her for her valued contributions across the club,” said Western United general manager of Football Mal Impiombato.
“As a leader amongst the group, Hillary was integral in setting the foundations of our program off the field, while her performances on the field were crucial in helping us reach the Grand Final in our inaugural season.”

As well as being named Western’s Player of the Season last term, Beall was also crowned Liberty A-League Goalkeeper of the Year, named in the PFA’s team of the season, voted Player of the Month twice while she was also scooped the ‘Save of the Year’ trophy at the Dolan Warren awards night.

Since returning to Western earlier this season on loan, Beall has gone on to make 12 appearances, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
This Sunday’s home clash with Wellington Phoenix will be her last for the club, who have also confirmed they are now looking to bring in a replacement for the fan favourite.
