Newcastle Jets have tied down one of the club’s most promising young talents with confirmation Liberty A-League midfielder Emma Dundas has signed a new two-year deal.
Having made her debut for the Jets in Round 1 of the 2023-24 Liberty A-League season, 17-year-old Dundas went on to make 22 appearances in her maiden campaign and has now signed on with her hometown club until the end of the 2025-26 season.
The teenager’s form helped the Jets reach the Semi-Finals, having won a Finals Series for the first time in their history last term.

“I’m really happy to be able to re-sign for my hometown team,” said Dundas after inking her new contract with the Jets.
“This season has been so surreal from making my debut in round one against the Mariners to playing finals football with this great group of girls.
She added: “This is the best place for me to play my football. I’m looking forward to continue growing as a player and I’m excited for what is to come for this team.”
A product of the Jets’ academy system, Dundas was rewarded for her impressive debut season with call-ups for both the Junior Matildas squad for the AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup in Indonesia whilst she’s also been named in the Young Matildas squad for the upcoming friendlies against New Zealand.
“Emma is an example of the type of player that we are looking to develop at the Newcastle
Jets,” said head coach Ryan Campbell.
“She is a homegrown player who has worked hard through our Academy to earn the chance to play for the Club at the highest level.
He continued: “I am looking forward to working with her more to help her to get as much experience as possible in order to take her game as far as she wants it to go.”
OLD HEAD: A-Leagues icon joins NPL side & immediately helps pull off huge upset
Dundas’ deal comes off the back of the re-signing of club legend Cassidy Davis, who recently signed on for a record 12th Liberty A-League campaign with the Jets.
A Liberty A-League icon, Davis made her Jets debut in 2013 and went on to make 132-straight appearances for the club without missing a game until a foot infection ended that run in the 2023-24 campaign.
