Newcastle Jets v Wellington Phoenix venue changed due to APL’s Heat Policy

Based on the latest weather forecasts, the APL in consultation with the club has taken the proactive step of changing the venue for this weekend’s Newcastle Jets v Wellington Phoenix fixture (Sunday 4 February). 

Under the APL’s Heat Policy, both the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) and Ambient Temperature (AT) are currently predicted to be significantly over the threshold at 5:00pm (AEDT) for Maitland Regional Sportsground. 

Given this, the decision has been made to relocate the match to No.2 Sportsground which in comparison falls under the thresholds as set out under the APL’s Heat Policy. 

APL will continue to monitor the forecast for the remainder of the week and will make further changes if necessary.
