Canberra United rescued their unbeaten streak with a late equaliser from Sasha Grove in a marathon 1-1 draw with CCM at McKellar Park.
Grove’s 90th minute equaliser cancelled out Annalise Rasmussen’s 67th minute opener, but due to lengthly lightning delays came over four hours after the scheduled kick off of the game.
The match started brightly with Canberra United on the front foot early. But as the skies darkened over McKellar Park, so did the attacking play.
Canberra United began the match with real attacking intent, heading into the first drinks break as the only side that had created a chance.
Shortly after the drinks break though, came a lightning interruption that would last just over an hour.
When the weather cleared and teams returned, it was much more cagey. The score would stay 0-0 until the second half.
Central Coast finally broke the deadlock when Isabel Gomez played an excellent through pass for Annalise Rasmussen to run on to and beat Sally James at her near post.

There would be another lengthy delay with more lightning in the area. When the teams returned to the park, Canberra United resumed their form from the first 20 minutes
In the 90th minute Sofia Christopherson placed a wicked low cross in front of goal for Sasha Grove to put away and level the scores. The match finished 1-1.
