Brisbane Roar have handed goalkeeper Keeley Richards a new one-year deal ahead of the upcoming Liberty A-League season.
The 29-year-old made her Roar debut towards the back end of last season, coming into the side for the remaining three games of the campaign after first choice goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz was recalled to her parent club in the US.
A Brisbane local, Richards initially began her career with Canberra United in 2020-21, playing two seasons in Green before making the switch to her hometown club.

“Really excited to be a part of Brisbane Roar again for the upcoming season,” said Richards after signing on ahead of the new campaign.
“Brisbane is home and being able to play in front of friends and family toward the back end of the season was a dream come true.
She added: “The fans are incredible and the support they provide is unreal and it’s always a privilege to be able to represent the club, both on and off the field.
“(I’m) looking forward to working with and learning from Alex (Smith) and the football department again and to continue to contribute to the team in every way I know how.”
Richards made the number one jersey her own following the departure of Silkowitz and played the final three games of the 2023-24 Liberty A-League, keeping one clean sheet in the process.
STELLAR SIGNING: Brisbane Roar retain Matildas forward after breakout season & Olympics debut
The news of the goalkeeper’s re-signing follows on from what was a busy week in Brisbane as the club also announced the capture of Singaporean striker Danelle Tan.
Furthermore, Roar fans can look forward to seeing more of reigning Player of the Year Sharn Freier, after it was announced the Matildas winger had put pen-to-paper on a new two-year contract following an outstanding breakout season in Orange.
