Socceroos striker ready for World Cup fight after signing on for ‘last hurrah’

New Macarthur Bulls striker Mitch Duke has spoken for the first time since returning to the Isuzu UTE A-League.

Sat pitchside at CommBank Stadium to watch his new side Macarthur take on his former side Western Sydney Wanderers, Duke spoke to Paramount+ at half time of the Western Sydney Derby.

Joining the Bulls until the end of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 campaign, Duke revealed he had interest from both Melbourne clubs as well as Brisbane Roar, but opted to join Mile Sterjovksi’s Macarthur.

Furthermore, the 50-time Australian international is also eyeing off a spot in Tony Popovic’s Socceroos squad for this year’s 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US, Canada and Mexico, and believes a good run of form can see him secure his spot.
