Newcastle Jets have confirmed defender Aleksandar Šušnjar has left the club by mutual agreement.
Joining the Jets from Perth Glory ahead of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign, Šušnjar went on to make 28 appearances for the club.

A member of Newcastle’s triumphant 2025 Australia Cup winning side, the one-time Socceroo has started five games under head coach Mark Milligan this season.
However, injury coupled with Milligan’s preference for other defenders has meant Šušnjar’s prospect of more game time this season was likely to be limited and as such, he’s been granted an immediate release from his contract.
A winner of the Australia Cup during his time with Macarthur Bulls, the 30-year-old will now seek opportunities elsewhere.
