Bulls bolster midfield stocks as inaugural squad member returns

Macarthur FC have further reinforced their squad ahead of the new Isuzu UTE A-League campaign, signing former midfielder Liam Rose on a two-year deal.

A member of the inaugural Macarthur FC squad in season 2020-21, Rose returns to Campbelltown following a stint with USL Championship side El Paso Locomotive in the USA and can’t wait to get back on the field.

“I’m so excited to be back playing for the Bulls and in front of the amazing members and fans,” said Rose after sealing his return to Australia.

“I remember my time at the Bulls well, and I’ve kept a close eye on the club even while playing in America. I can’t wait to be back out there giving my all for you guys!”

A defensive midfielder by trade, Rose will add some much needed depth in the middle of the park for the Bulls following the departures of midfielder trio Charles M’Mombwa, Daniel De Silva and Ali Auglah.

Now 27, Rose returns to the Isuzu UTE A-League where he initially made his name playing for Central Coast Mariners and becomes Macarthur’s third signing of the off-season following the arrivals of former Sydney FC captain Luke Brattan and Melbourne City winger Marin Jakoliš.

After collecting the wooden spoon in 2022-23, Macarthur bounced back in impressive fashion under Mile Sterjovski last season, securing finals football with a fifth-placed finish before ultimately bowing out to Sydney FC in the Elimination Finals.
