Adelaide United have signed talented young goalkeeper Max Vartuli from Isuzu UTE A-League rivals Sydney FC.
Described as “one of Australia’s most promising young goalkeepers”, Vartuli has signed a three-year contract with Adelaide, having graduated through Sydney FC’s academy after joining aged 14.
The “promising” 19-year-old shot-stopper spent a year on loan at Danish side AaB Aalborg last season and was part of the team who were promoted to Denmark’s top flight – the Superliga.

“Joining Adelaide United is an absolute privilege, and I’m incredibly excited to be part of such a respected club,” said Vartuli, who is yet to make his A-Leagues debut.
“I believe this is the right environment for me to continue developing as a goalkeeper, especially because the club has a strong history of giving young players like myself the opportunities we need to grow and succeed.
“I can’t wait to learn my trade under the guidance of Eugene Galekovic, who has been an inspiration to many aspiring goalkeepers.
“Working with him is a dream come true, and I’m eager to contribute to the team and make the most of this incredible opportunity.”
Vartuli joins fellow goalkeepers James Delianov and Ethan Cox at Adelaide.
He is the latest new face at Coopers Stadium, after Archie Goodwin, Dylan Pierias, Bart Vriends and Julian Kwaaitaal, while Amlani Tatu, Feyzo Kasumovic and Malual Nichola have signed scholarship deals with the Reds.

“We believe he has a bright future ahead, and we’re thrilled to have him join the Reds.”
