Adelaide United hand five-year deal to son of a gun: ‘I have no doubt he’ll achieve great things’

Adelaide United midfielder Ethan Alagich has signed a five-year contract extension with the Reds.

Alagich’s new deal comes after he penned his first professional contract in July last year and is reward for his form with the Isuzu UTE A-League side.

The 20-year-old, who is the son of Reds legend Richie Alagich, has made 44 appearances for his hometown club after playing 20 games across all competitions in 2023-24.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue my journey with Adelaide United,” said Alagich, who has progressed through the ranks at Coopers Stadium where he won the 2023 NPLM SA title last term.

“From growing up watching my dad to representing the club, I understand what it means to wear the shirt.

“A special thank you to the fans for their incredible support; your encouragement means the world to me. I look forward to giving my best for this club and its supporters in the coming years.”

Alagich’s new deal comes after talented trio Amlani Tatu, Feyzo Kasumovic and Malual Nichola signed their first contracts on Thursday.

Carl Veart’s Adelaide have also signed Archie Goodwin, Dylan Pierias, Bart Vriends and Julian Kwaaitaal (immediately loaned to FC Eindhoven) while re-signing Ethan Cox, Isaías, Javi López and Austin Ayoubi.
