Perth Glory have been dealt a blow leading into the new Liberty A-League season with news midfielder Hana Lowry has left the club in order to “take up an opportunity elsewhere”.
The 21-year-old established herself as a key component at the club since making her debut during the 2019-20 season.
Totalling 72 appearances in the Liberty A-League and bagging 11 goals, Lowry’s departure leaves a big hole to fill in the heart of midfield as new head coach Stephen Peters continues to revamp the side ahead of the new campaign.
“I would like to say a massive thank you to Perth for these last five years,” said Lowry after he exit was confirmed.
“Representing my hometown club has meant everything to me.
She continued: “I have grown so much as a player and as a person and I can’t thank everyone at the club enough for all the opportunities that I have been given.
“Thank you to the fans for your support and belief in me. Through everything, you have stood by this team and that has meant so much.
“Whilst it’s time for a new chapter, I will always cherish the incredible memories I have made here and I want to wish the club all the best going forward.”

A firm favourite amongst the supporters and her teammates, Lowry took out the club’s Most Glorious Player Award at the end of the 2023-24 Liberty A-League season with CEO Antony Radich praising the midfielder’s contribution in Perth.
“Hana has been outstanding for our club both on and off the pitch ever since she joined,” said Radich. “We have loved having her with us and very much wanted her to stay.
“We are investing to build a competitive women’s squad and we allowed Hana the time and space to consider what was a very good offer, but she has opted to move on in order to experience a different environment and take on a new challenge as part of her personal development.
“While we are very disappointed to lose her, we understand and respect her decision and appreciate that it was not made easily.
“It is a similar situation to the one we saw with Josh Risdon a few years ago and like Josh, hopefully we will see Hana return to the club at some point in the future.
“On behalf of everyone associated with Glory, I would like to thank her for her excellent service over the past five years and wish her all the very best in her future endeavours.”
