Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the signing of young midfielder Dylan Scicluna from Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 19-year-old joins the club after six years in the Wolves Academy, where he debuted for the club’s U18 side as a 13-year-old before going on to make 36 appearances across all competitions.
Scicluna has also made a number of national team appearances for both Australia and Malta in the last year – including two caps for the Young Socceroos in 2022 and featuring for the latter at the U19 European Championships earlier this year.
His arrival helps bolster their midfield stocks going into the season, having parted ways with the likes of Calem Nieuwenhof, Morgan Schneiderlin and Romain Amalfitano.

“I’ve come to Western Sydney because I think it’s a great next step in my development and I believe there will be opportunities for me to show what I can do to help the team,” Scicluna said.
“Western Sydney are one of the biggest Australian clubs and our aim is to win and achieve great things together.
“I’m hoping to become an important part of the squad and be in the starting 11 as soon as possible to help the team win the A-Leagues this season.”
Wanderers boss Marko Rudan added: “We are delighted to secure a young talent in Dylan for the upcoming A-Leagues season.
“Dylan is set to bolster our midfield by adding more depth and creativity, and we look forward to watching his development over the next season.”
Scicluna joins the likes of Lachlan Brook, Marcus Antonsson, Dylan Pierias, Josh Brillante and Jack Clisby as one of the Wanderers’s latest off-season arrivals.
The Wanderers booked their place in the quarter finals of the 2023 Australia Cup with a 5-1 win over Adelaide United and will face Brisbane Roar in the next round.
