Perth Glory head coach David Zdrilic insisted the Isuzu UTE A-League side will be signing more players in the January as they look to utilise “every window” amid their rebuild.
It has been a difficult season for the Glory, who have won just one of their first 12 games to sit 12th in the standings, but Perth are already making changes with the transfer window set to officially open on January 16.
After parting ways with foreign pair Luis Canga and Cristian Caicedo, as well as Mustafa Amini while Luke Bodnar departed for an opportunity abroad, Perth have already recruited experienced Tomislav Mrcela and more are set to follow.

Amid speculation regarding the possible arrival of two Japanese players, Zdrilic told reporters ahead of Saturday’s showdown against league leaders Auckland FC: “We are rebuilding at the moment but wanting to win every game.
“In terms of us rebuilding in January, we are going to get players in. We are going to further that in every window we have.
“In the meantime, we are hellbent on being as competitive as we can be. As these players come, depending on their fitness levels, we’re going to advance and be more competitive with each game.
“I think we’ve seen that in recent games. I know results haven’t been there but it’s slowly getting there. We need more players and we need to use all the windows we have to advance our playing staff.”

Zdrilic added: “I think we’ve been saying from day one that in the off-season our hands were tied. There was minimal movement available to us in terms of the budget and the cap, we just didn’t have room to move.
“Now in January we’ve been able to sign some players which is great news for us. Again, we don’t have large amounts within the cap to do a lot of work but we’ve done the best we can with what’s available. I think we’re excited about that.
“In terms of a statement of intent, that was from day one but we have to build this squad up, we have to develop the squad and use all the windows to make that happen.”
