Perth Glory announce eight player exits including former LaLiga striker

Perth Glory have confirmed a raft of player departures, including regular first-team members Jack Clisby, Zach Duncan and Antonee Burke-Gilroy, as well as overseas recruit Adrian Sardinero.

Clisby, Duncan, Burke-Gilroy and Sardinero were joined by Pierce Clark, Matt Hatch, Mitch Oxborrow and Jacob Young in heading for the exit door.

Glory have already bid farewell to Liam Reddy, Jacob Dowse, Brad Jones and Keegan Jelacic, as well as head coach Ruben Zadkovich, with the Western Australian outfit set to undergo a major off-season rebuild.

The departure of Sardinero brings the Spanish striker’s underwhelming two-season stint in Perth to a close. The former Getafe striker made just 12 appearances in his first season before an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in April, 2022 cut his maiden campaign in the West short.

Salim Khelifi was originally signed as an injury replacement for the Spaniard, who returned to training following his ACL injury in early 2023 but did not make an appearance under Zadkovich in the 2022-23 season.

Clisby meantime is the club’s biggest loss among the eight departing players; the left-back made 21 appearances in 2022-23 (all starts) scoring three goals.

“On behalf of everyone associated with Perth Glory, I would like to sincerely thank the departing players for all their efforts during their time at the club,” said CEO Anthony Radich in a club statement.

“We wish them all the very best in the next stage of their football journeys.”
