A-League Goal of Matchweek 23 – Callum Timmins

Perth Glory midfielder Callum Timmins couldn’t have struck his first A-League goal any sweeter, as he rifled a long-range shot into the top corner against Wellington Phoenix to seal Goal of Matchweek 23 honours.

The 21-year-old’s Goals of the Season contender put Perth 2-1 ahead before the ‘Nix found a late equaliser in an enthralling contest at Eden Park.

Timmins looked to put Wellington’s Oliver Sail to the test from well outside the box, but the Phoenix ‘keeper stood no chance against the Glory young gun’s lethal shot.

Striking off his right foot in the 75th minute, Timmins produced an audible sound of disbelief from the 22,233 fans in the house as his shot continued to rise until the top-right corner of goal stopped it in its tracks.
