Sydney FC captain Rhyan Grant has signed a one-year contraction extension with the Isuzu UTE A-League club.
Grant – Sydney’s longest-serving player – has re-signed in a deal that will keep the 34-year-old defender in the Harbour City until the end of the 2026-27 season.
Since debuting as a 17-year-old in 2008, Grant has become the club’s record-appearance maker with 377 games across 17 campaign while winning four Championships and as many Premierships.

“I love Sydney FC. This club means everything to me and it is all I have ever known,” said Grant, whose new deal will take him into his 19th season with the Sky Blues.
“From when I first stepped foot on the pitch at Allianz Stadium to now, a fair amount in my life has changed for the better and I owe a lot of that to this club.
“Sydney is my life and it is where my family is and there’s nowhere else I would rather play another season of A-League football, with some great mates alongside.
“I can’t wait to continue to make more history with this great club.”

Grant is coming off a 2024-25 campaign that saw the 21-time Socceroo play the most minutes across the Isuzu UTE A-League, Australia Cup and AFC Champions League Two, which saw Sydney reach an historic semi-final.
A two-time Australia Cup winner, Sydney head coach Ufuk Talay said of Grant: “What Rhyan provides us in leadership and experience on and off the pitch is so valuable and we are thrilled to see him extend his time with the club for another year.
“He embodies everything that we want in a player; hard-working, committed and willing to do everything it takes to win, and what he brings to this side is more than just football.
“He has been a great captain during the 2024-25 season and I really look forward to seeing him continue to rack up appearances and break more records.”
