Brisbane Roar dealt blow after season-ending injury

Brisbane Roar full-back Scott Neville will miss the rest of the 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

Neville sustained the ACL injury in training, with the Roar confirming the injury blow ahead of Saturday’s showdown against Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium.

The 35-year-old had made eight appearances this season.

“Everyone at Brisbane Roar FC wishes Scott a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see him back out on the pitch sooner rather than later,” the club said in a statement.

Neville has called Brisbane home since 2019 and he has amassed almost 100 A-Leagues appearances for the Roar.

He was also part of the team that reached the 2023 Australia Cup final against Sydney FC in October.
