Melbourne City’s Tolgay Arslan could be sidelined for at least four Isuzu UTE A-League matches following his red card in last week’s 4-2 loss to Perth Glory. Meanwhile, Wanderers boss Marko Rudan has been issued a show cause notice.
Arslan was referred directly to Football Australia’s Disciplinary and Ethics Committee by Football Australia’s independent Match Review Panel, having been dismissed at the death in City’s defeat away to the Glory in Round 15.
The former Udinese midfielder was cited for using “offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures against a Match Official”.

Arslan is already suspended for Saturday night’s contest against Brisbane Roar and while the minimum sanction for the offence is one match, the MRP formed the view that a ban of greater than four games was warranted for the offence.
The former Hamburg, Besiktas and Fenerbahce star has been a shining light for the three-time reigning Isuzu UTE A-League premiers in his first season in Australia, scoring five goals and tallying five assists.
Meanwhile, Western Sydney Wanderers head coach Marko Rudan has been issued a show cause notice by Football Australia.
There was contention over Valere Germain’s 93rd-minute winner, with Wanderers goalkeeper Lawrence Thomas adamant the ball did not cross the line.
Afterwards, Rudan spoke uninterrupted for six minutes and he has now been cited under the Football Australia Code of Conduct and Ethics.

Western Sydney ended that match with 10 men after Tom Beadling was sent off in the 53rd minute and the Wanderers defender is also facing a lengthy suspension.
Beadling saw red for a challenge on Ulises Davila, which FA deemed him to have committed the offence of “serious foul play”.
The MRP has proposed a suspension of three matches for the offence, being the minimum sanction for the offence plus two additional games.
