Newcastle Jets coach explains why he is ‘excited’ about new Ninja A-League signing

Newcastle Jets have signed New Zealand international Deven Jackson for the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season.

Jackson arrives in Newcastle from A-Leagues rivals Canberra United.

The 26-year-old forward scored two goals in 21 appearances last season.

“With a strong core of players returning and the momentum from last year’s success, I’m excited to build on that progress and make a meaningful impact within the team,” said Jackson.

Jackson is the latest new face at the Jets after Bel Rolley, Danielle Krzyzaniak, India Breier, Ava PiazzaChloe WalandouwJosie Allan and Mia Green.

Newcastle have also re-signed Cassidy DavisEmma Dundas, Claudia CiccoSophie HobanNatasha PriorMilan Hammond, Libby Copus-BrownTiahna Robertson, Lorena Baumann, Josie Wilson, Josie Allan and Chloe Walandouw.

“Deven adds a lot of experience to a young team which is something that I am excited about. Her ability to play a range of positions is a key strength of her game,” said Jets head coach Ryan Campbell.
