In an Australian sporting first, Hyundai, with the support of Football Federation Australia are rewarding loyal Hyundai A-League fans with the opportunity to vote on elements of the Grand Final experience.
Every year there is fan conjecture over all parts of the Finals Series, and of course the marquee event, the Grand Final. Whether it is an offside decision, the Joe Marston Medallist, the national anthem singer, the pre-match entertainment or even the food on offer at the venues.
In an Australian sporting first, Hyundai and the FFA are giving fans one of the votes on the nine-person panel of experts for the prestigious Joe Marston Medallist, which celebrates the player of the match in the Grand Final.
Peking Duk to headline A-League Grand Final
Hyundai and the FFA have also partnered with MasterChef Australia Co-judge and football tragic George Calombaris who has created three specialty souvlakis. Fans can vote on their favourite, with the top polling recipe going on sale at the Hyundai A-League Grand Final – a far cry from the standard stadium fare of pies and chips!
The FFA also announced today that local music sensation, Peking Duk, will headline the Hyundai A-League Grand Final pre-match entertainment. Fans will be tasked with voting for their favourite tracks by the ARIA award winning duo who will then perform the top voting tracks during the pre-match entertainment on Grand Final Sunday.
In the lead up to the Hyundai A-League Grand Final fans also have the power to vote on who will perform the national anthem and select the competing clubs’ all important walk out tracks.
Football Federation Australia CEO David Gallop said the FFA was thrilled to continue its mantra of “putting the fans first”, through the exciting Finals Series actvation.
“The FFA is all about putting our fans first, so it is exciting to see Hyundai, our naming rights partner, giving the fans this unique opportunity to help shape the Grand Final experience.”
