One of the players mentioned was Central Coast Mariners midfielder Trudy Camilleri, who wasn-t really under the radar for the team, but performed so well for the Mariners that her claims to be part of the Young Matildas squad could not be ignored.

From the western suburbs of Sydney, Camilleri played all 10 games for the Mariners and scored 3 goals as a centre midfielder, including a double in a memorable 6-0 win over Adelaide United.

Career Highlight to date: Getting selected to trial for the Young Matildas and to play for the Mariners

Most memorable match played in and why: Mariners v Adelaide United; we beat them 6-0 and played extremely well and as well, I scored 2 goals for my parents who were watching on TV.

Biggest Influence on career: My dad and past coaches

What got you into football: I have just always played at school and loved the game itself. Family friends Jame, Tony B and Luiey, plus my past coach Brett.

Describe the Westfield W-League: Very competitive and quick. Fantastic experience and I absolutely loved everything about it; the fans, coaches and fellow players.

Outside of football, what do you enjoy most: Doing up my car, when things go right! Spending time with my sisters and just relaxing I suppose. You learn to love it after doing everything else.
