Riley McGree’s remarkable goal in the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 Semi-Finals has been shortlist for the AIC’s Best Sporting Moment of the year.
The 20-year-old’s infamous scorpion kick, which was also nominated for the FIFA Puscas Award, is pitched against some of Australia’s great sporting moment from the last 12 months.

McGree’s effort was all the more remarkable given the stage on which it was set, firing the Jets into the Grand Final as they came from behind to beat Melbourne City 2-1.

Australians will be able to vote on the AIS Sport Performance Awards at aisawards.abc.net.au from now until 5pm AEDT on 9 December, 2018.
